Choosing a mode
The routes we run from Hyderabad range from Pune at about 560 km to Guwahati at about 2,300 km. That spread is why the answer is not the same for every move out of this city.
Pune, about 560 km on NH 44, is the run our Hyderabad drivers do most often. A steady NH 65 run finished inside a day.
We board at Secunderabad Junction (SC) or Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally) (HYB) and handle the parcel office paperwork there. On Raipur, about 800 km, this is usually the best value of the three modes.
Flights leave from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) at Shamshabad, which is about 30 km from the city, so the run to the cargo terminal is part of the plan rather than an afterthought. On Guwahati at about 2,300 km, flying turns a multi day journey into a few hours.

Dogs
The dogs we are asked about most in Hyderabad are Labradors, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Indies. Large breeds do best by road, where there is no crate size limit and no cargo hold. Pugs are common here and we keep them off flights where we can, because several airlines will not carry a snub nosed dog at all.
Most dog moves out of Hyderabad are road jobs: 5 of the 10 routes we run from here go by vehicle. We use NH 44 towards Bengaluru and Nagpur on the busiest of them, Bangalore.
Cats
Persian cats make up most of the cat moves we run out of Hyderabad. Flat faced cats feel the Hyderabad summer the way snub nosed dogs do, so their pickups move to the early morning too.
Pune at about 560 km goes by road. For the Guwahati run we board at Secunderabad Junction (SC), in a first AC coupe or in 2nd and 3rd AC with a handler alongside.
