Choosing a mode
The routes we run from Ahmedabad range from Vadodara at about 110 km to Bangalore at about 1,500 km. That spread is why the answer is not the same for every move out of this city.
Vadodara, about 110 km on NH 48, is the run our Ahmedabad drivers do most often. A short expressway run, easily done in a morning.

Dogs
The dogs we are asked about most in Ahmedabad are Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Indies, Pugs. Large breeds do best by road, where there is no crate size limit and no cargo hold. Pugs and Shih Tzus are common here and we keep them off flights where we can, because several airlines will not carry a snub nosed dog at all.
