How does domestic pet relocation work?
Answer
Three modes, and the right one depends on distance more than anything else.Road suits journeys under about 1,000 km and reaches places the other two cannot. Train suits 500 to 2,500 km and usually gives the best value on long routes. Air suits distances above roughly 1,500 km, or any move where the date is fixed.
Where no single mode covers the route well, such as a small town with no direct flight, we build a hybrid route, combining road with train or air. A named handler travels with your pet from doorstep pickup to final delivery on every mode.

How a domestic pet move runs, step by step
From your first call to the doorstep handover, this is the sequence we follow on every move, in every city. You will always know which step you are on.

Tell us the route and your pet
Call or WhatsApp with your pickup area, the destination, your pet's breed and weight, and a rough date. You get the mode we recommend and a clear price range on that call.
- Day 1 to 2
Confirm and lock the date
We book the train coupe, cargo slot or vehicle. Peak season dates move fast, so this is the step worth doing early.
- 3 to 7 days before
Papers, crate and vet visit
We share the document list, arrange the fitness certificate through our local vet network, and either deliver a crate or check that yours will be accepted.
- 3 to 5 days before
Crate familiarisation at home
A simple routine so the crate feels like a normal resting spot by travel day. This single step reduces travel stress more than anything else.

Pickup, updates and doorstep delivery
Our handler collects your pet from your address and stays with them throughout, sending photos at each planned break, then hands over at the destination door.

Domestic moves within India do not need an NOC, a quarantine certificate or a rabies titer test. Those are international requirements. If an agent asks you for them on a domestic move, ask why.

What a domestic move costs
Roughly ₹6,000 to ₹60,000 per pet. The main drivers are distance, the mode, and your pet's weight, since weight decides both crate size and air cargo pricing. Route and season matter too: mountainous or remote regions such as the Northeast, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh cost more to reach than travel between major cities.
A hybrid route, combining two modes to reach a smaller town, costs more than a single mode because of the added coordination. We will tell you plainly when that is genuinely necessary rather than the only way we can think to quote your route.

What counts as domestic pet relocation?
Moving a pet anywhere within India, whether that is a permanent relocation to a new state, sending a pet to stay with family, or a one-off trip. It covers all three modes: air, train, and road.
International moves are handled separately, since the paperwork depends entirely on the destination country.
How do I choose between air, road and train?
Distance decides most of it: road under about 1,000 km, train for 500 to 2,500 km, air above roughly 1,500 km or when the date is fixed. Your pet's temperament, health and past travel experience narrow it further.

Can you combine two travel modes for one move?
Yes, and we do this whenever one mode alone does not cover the route well, most often road to the nearest railhead or airport followed by train or air onward. It costs more to coordinate than a single mode, but it is often the only way to reach a smaller town properly.
We will tell you plainly when a hybrid route is genuinely necessary versus when a single mode would do the job for less.
